A young man from Mountrath has announced his standing for People Before Profit in the upcoming General Election.
Ken Mooney (23) from Mountrath is a recent graduate of the University of Limerick, having studied politics.
Mr Mooney joined the party at the age of 20, and is campaigning for minimum wage supports and the abolition of tuition fees for Laois people.
The candidate has said that his main policies are affordable housing, minimum wage supports and carer supports.
Mr Mooney has been contacted for comment.
