Returning Officer Rory Hanniffy read the results of the seventh count in the Rice Nagle Sports Complex in Portlaoise at 10.25am this morning. The count consisted of the distribution of Elaine Mullally’s 2,959 votes.
The results of the seventh count are as follows:
Willie Aird(FG) (9,619 Elected Fifth Count)
Pauline Flanagan(Ind) Eliminated
Sean Fleming(FF) (+510) 9,382
Mary Hande(Aontú) Eliminated
Jason Lynch(Ind) Eliminated
Maria McCormack(SF)(+350) 5,888
Ken Mooney(PBP) Eliminated
Aisling Moran(Ind) Eliminated
Elaine Mullally(Ind) Eliminated
Rosie Palmer(Grn) Eliminated
Austin Stack(FF) Eliminated
Brian Stanley(Ind) (+826) 8,170
There were 554 non-transferable votes. Aisling Moran has been eliminated and her 4,371 votes will now be distributed.
The total electorate in Laois is 65,873. The total poll is 38,507 and there were 231 spoiled votes leaving a valid poll of 38, 276 and the quota is 9,570.
