Returning Officer Rory Hanniffy read the results of the eighth count just before noon when Aisling Moran’s 4, 371 votes were distributed. Sean Fleming and Brian Stanley were elected to the final two Dáil seats in Laois after Willie Aird took the first seat on Saturday.
The results of the eighth count are as follows:

The total electorate in Laois is 65,873. The total poll is 38,507 and there were 231 spoiled votes leaving a valid poll of 38, 276 and the quota is 9,570.
