Competition and camaraderie highlight Captain Anne O’Sullivan’s Prize day

The Heath Golf Club recently held its annual Prize Day under the guidance of Captain Anne O’Sullivan, with members enjoying two days of competitive golf and sunshine. FULL RESULTS BELOW PICTURE.

In the 36-hole competition, Niamh Kelly claimed first place with an impressive 79 points, closely followed by Sadie Ging on 77 points. Catherine Reilly took Gross honours with 49 points, while Emma Kavanagh and Helen Bergin both finished on 75 points. Past Captain May Tyrrell scored 73 points, sharing fifth place with Poilin Hooban, and Mary Cotter finished with 71 points. The Day 1 18-hole competition saw Theresa Boyle take top spot with 38 points ahead of Ann Dunne’s 36 points. On Day 2, Marie Conlon led the field with 39 points, just ahead of Nona Shortall on 38. In another 18-hole contest, Ciamh Power topped the leaderboard with 42 points, with Louise Walsh in second on 40 points. Day 1’s leader Esther Phelan scored 20 points, while Day 2’s top scorer Caroline Fahey tallied 27 points.

The 12-hole Men’s Stableford competition was won by PJ Mulhall with 26 points, ahead of John Bergin on 24 points. Meanwhile, the Putting Competition showcased some fine skills, with Miriam McGann taking first place on 20 putts, Sarah Coonan second with 21, and Rita Arrigan sharing third also on 21 putts.

Captain Anne O’Sullivan congratulated all the winners and thanked members for a fantastic turnout, praising the friendly and competitive spirit that made the day a memorable one for the club.
