Challenged by strong winds throughout the round, players were put to the test, requiring both precision and patience, qualities on full display by Dominic Connell, who scored an impressive 38 points to claim the main prize.

A fiercely competitive battle unfolded for the remaining top spots, with Society Captain Philip Monnelly narrowly edging out Paul Delaney, while Matthew Keegan secured fourth place. Cathal O’Donnell impressed with a tremendous drive down the 13th, taking the Longest Drive prize, and John Taylor claimed the Nearest the Pin title.

The Society’s most prestigious accolade, the Ollie Fennell Trophy, is awarded to the golfer who has shown consistent excellence across all outings throughout the season. This year, the trophy was deservedly claimed by Matthew Keegan, the former Portlaoise and Laois star, marking a fitting recognition of his performance.

As the curtain falls on another season, the Society extends heartfelt thanks to Captain Philip Monnelly for his dedicated leadership, and to all members, young and old, who participated. With another successful year behind them, the Society looks forward to seeing everyone back on the course next season.
