Laois Civil Defence took part in two rescue operations in the Slieve Bloom Mountains this weekend.
The South East Mountain Rescue Association(SEMRA) said a walker suffered a head injury in a fall today.
“Shortly before noon today SEMRA were tasked by National Ambulance Service (NAS) to assist a walker that fell and suffered a head and shoulder injury,” they stated.
“While SEMRA members were responding NAS(National Ambulance Service) staff were able to get to the casualty, treat them and extract them safely.”
“The callout was to the Glenbarrow Trail in the Slieve Bloom Mountains. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery. Laois Civil-Defence were also responding to the callout,” they said.
“Yesterday, SEMRA and @laoiscivildefence were tasked to assist a walker suffering from medical issues in the Slieve Bloom Mountains. We wish the casualty well. Great work by all involved,” they stated.
“A busy weekend for our volunteers who attended multiple training courses and events as well as two medical assist call outs to the Slieve Bloom Mountains alongside South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association, Garda Síochána Laois Offaly and Offaly Civil Defence,” Laois Civil Defence stated on social media.
