Gardaí arrested three men and seized drugs and cash in Mountmellick.
The men were arrested by Gardaí from Mountmellick Station. They conducted a routine vehicle stop resulting in the recovery of a sum of cash and a quantity of drugs during an anti crime patrol on Thursday.
The occupants of the car, three adult males, were detained under Misuse of Drugs legislation and taken to Tullamore Garda Station.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest and detention of the individuals in connection with recent retail theft and deception incidents in the region.
Following their arrests and detentions, one male in his 20s was charged and brought before the District Court on Thursday.
The other two males, aged in their 30s and 40s, have also been charged and are due to appear before Mullingar District Court today.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
