Laois gardaí arrest two on suspicion of drink and drug driving over bank holiday weekend

Gardaí in Laois arrested two drivers on suspicion of drink and drug driving over the bank holiday weekend. 


The Local Roads Policing Unit were out in force over the St Patrick's Day weekend conducting an enforcement operation focusing on the dangers of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, and using a mobile phone while driving. 


"Laois Roads Policing Unit on duty over the bank holiday weekend were out in the county performing checkpoints as part of Operation Surround," said a Garda spokesperson. 


"Two drivers in Mountmellick last night were arrested on suspicion of drunk and drug driving."
