Number of motorists in Laois and Offaly arrested over Easter for driving under influence

A number of motorists in Laois and Offaly were arrested over Easter after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

According to gardaí, over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, Laois/Offaly Gardaí have so far arrested nine people for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Gardai added that the arrests were made despite all the advance warnings provided as part of this Bank Holiday Nationwide Campaign.

The people who were arrested face court appearances which gardaí say are scheduled for April.
