Plans lodged to turn Laois bar into hostel

The premises is located on Mary Street, Durrow.

Plans have been lodged with Laois County Council to turn Lennon's Bar in Durrow into hostel accommodation.

The application, lodged by Marc Lennon, seeks a change of use of the existing bar on the ground floor and private accommodation on the first floor for use as a guesthouse/hostel.

However Laois County Council has deemed the application invalid and said an application for ‘Retention Permission’ should be submitted due to works already commenced.

The local authority also requested ground floor and first floor plans to show the overall dimensions of the proposed structure.

The Council ordered that the site notice should be removed immediately and advised the applicant if they are  returning this application when fully completed they should do so within 14 days of the original newspaper notice.
