Laois Gardai say a van with ‘lights hanging off’ hadn’t been taxed in almost eight years and had no working handbrake.
They discovered a number of issues when they pulled the van over. Gardaí said the van’s road tax was out 2,857 days.
“Mountrath Garda out and about when they observed this vehicle being driven with even the lights hanging off. On stopping it, it had no tax for 2857 days, no NCT, the tyres were in very poor condition, handbrake not working either, driver had "just bought it" & chose to drive it instead of getting a tow truck. PSV to follow and a prosecution,” Gardai stated on social media.
