Laois gardaí issue significant number of tickets for holding mobile phone while driving

Ten tickets were issued for driving while holding a mobile phone.

Laois gardaí have issued a significant number of tickets to motorists for holding a mobile phone while driving. 


Mountrath Gardaí were carrying out a patrol on Monday, July 8 when they issued fines for a range of alleged road traffic offences. 


Ten tickets were issued for driving while holding a mobile phone, two tickets were issued to drivers for having no tax, one for no NCT and one ticket for non-display of an L plate. 


"There have been 99 deaths on Irish roads this year. Please take care and drive safe," Gardaí warned.
