Laois Offaly Gardai arrested a motorist who was detected driving at well over twice the speed limit during Operation Slow Down yesterday. 

“As part of Operation Slow Down, Offaly Roads Policing Unit detected a motorist driving at 135kph in a 50kph zone. The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and will be appearing in court,” gardaí said.  

“Earlier on Clara Road, Tullamore, another driver was caught speeding at 83kph in a 50kph zone and was issued an FCN,” gardaí added.

Gardaí urged motorists to please slow down and drive safely.
