90,500 attend day two of the National Ploughing Championships in Laois

Crowds enjoying the atmosphere on day two

A remarkable 90,500 people attended day two of the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska.

There was sunshine and smooth traffic flows for the 90,500 visitors who attended the second day of the three day event.

This year’s Ploughing looks set to attract bumper crowds as together with the 75,500 people who attended day one of the event, 166,000 people have now already visited the site in Laois.

Those figures are way up on 2023 when weather conditions were far less favourable and 200,500 people attended over the three days.

General Secretary of the National Ploughing Championships, Anna Marie McHugh, was delighted that the third successive year at Ratheniska was going so well.

She said the weather, perfect ploughing conditions and lack of traffic issues was enabling organisers, competitors and exhibitors to showcase what they can do.

The event will be moving to a new venue in 2025.
