RIP: Funeral of woman who died in Laois crash to take place on Tuesday

The funeral of a woman who was tragically killed in a collision on the M7 at Borris-in-Ossory will take place tomorrow. 

Catherine ‘Kitty’ Boland(83) from Leugh, Tipperary was reported to be a camoige player of note in her younger years.

She died in a two car collision on the M7 eastbound lane on the afternoon of Thursday, November 28. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car, a woman in 50s, was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise with serious non life threatening injuries.

Ms Boland is survived by her sister Pauline and predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary, brothers Thomas, Pat and John, sister Eileen, sister-in-law Catherine, brothers-in-law Paddy and Danny, nephews Tommy and Michael.

Her funeral takes place at the Church of the Assumption, Thurles this Tuesday, December 3 at 11am followed by a Service and cremation in Shannon Crematorium at 3pm. 

Ms Boland is deeply regretted by her loving family, sister Pauline, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great grand-nieces, great grand-nephews, sisters-in-law Joan and Mary, neighbours and friends.
