Laois Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Sean Fleming, had a meeting with Pope Francis in Rome at the weekend.
The Fianna Fáil Minister posted a picture of his meeting on to social media.
“Honoured to meet Pope Francis for a private audience last weekend, during a State visit to the Vatican and Rome,” he said.
The Department of Foreign Affairs also posted an image of the meeting. They stated that during his visit to the Vatican, Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, Sean Fleming had the honour of an audience with Pope Francis.
