The main road from Portarlington to Monasterevin has been closed due to what is being described as a ‘serious accident’.
Gardaí confirmed with the Leinster Express / Laois Live that Laois gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision at Kilmullen, Portarlington, Co. Laois on Tuesday morning, November 25.
The driver, a woman aged in her 30s was removed from the scene to Tullamore Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí confirm that investigations ongoing.
TFI Local Link Laois Offaly has issued a notice advising that the R420 between Portarlington and Monasterevin is closed.
“Passengers on our 806 service Portarlington to Monasterevin please be aware the main road from Portarlington to Monasterevin (R420) is closed due to a serious accident. Diversion via bog road (R424) into Monasterevin so some delays may occur,” TFI stated.
