Portlaoise stabbing victim 'stable'

The victim of a stabbing incident in Portlaoise is in a critical but stable condition, Gardai have said.

The man in his 30s was discovered with wounds to his abdomen on Coote Street at around 4am yesterday morning (Tuesday, May 10) . He was rushed to the Midlands Hospital Portlaoise and then transferred to St. Vincent’s, Dublin.

No arrests have been made to date.

Gardai are appealing for information and people are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100.
