Irish Olympic swimmer Shane Ryan got a hero's wecome home to Laois where he was met with a big celebration in his father's home tome of Portarlington.
The swimmer arrived home to a parade through the town followed by a party in the Pint O'Port pub.
Shane competed well at his first Olympics in backstoke and freestyle events in Rio.
Shane, aged just 22, was born and raised in the United States but qualified for Ireland through his Portarlington-born father.
Shane has plenty of aunts, uncles and cousins in his second home and many of them were there to welcome him last Monday night to what is now his second home.
