Laois Down Syndrome's first ever Vintage Run

Laois Down Syndrome's first ever Vintage Run

For the first time this Sunday, September 25, Laois Down Syndrome is holding its own Vintage Road Run, and chairman Michael Gorman is asking everybody to come to Ballacolla for it.

“We are asking every vintage and tractor club around Laois to come and support us. We hope if this inaugural run goes well that we can make it an annual event,” he said.

All money raised goes towards LDS’s employment projects, therapies and education aids for Laois adults with Down Syndrome.

The 12km run begins at 1.30pm, heading to Cullahill and Durrow, returning to Ballacolla at about 3pm. Participants can make a donation of their choosing, and will receive plaques afterwards, with a prize draw.

“Everyone is very welcome to join in the fun,” said organiser Margaret Donavan.
