The family of Nicole Turner have thanked everybody who supported the Portarlington swimmer during her exploits in Rio.
Her mum Bernie, dad and brothers Dan and Ciaran posted their thanks on her facebook page after the games ended last weeked.
“We the Turner family would like to say a massive thank you to everyone out there that has supported Nicole on this truly amazing experience,” said the family on Nicole's facebook page.
“A big thank you has to be given to Paralympics Ireland, #MorethanSport for looking after Nicole, helping and guiding her on the way and applying no pressure whatsoever, letting her experience the true wonderful feeling of being a Paralympian and representing your country at this world stage.
In the message the family give huge praise to Nicole on making five Paralympic swimming finals.
“Nicole Turner you did yourself and the country of Ireland proud. I hope you go on to inspire the next generation of children with any sort of disability that sport doesn't stop because you think you won't be good enough. You have shown that through hard work and determination, Dreams really can come true. We love you so much and would not change you for the world!”
Nicole, aged 14, is the youngest member of Team Ireland to compete in Brazil.
