Carlow IT is the most popular Institute of Technology destination among Laois Leaving Cert Students.
Some 285 of the 784 students in Laois chose the IT route through the CAO according to the recently published Feeder Schools tables for 2016.
In total, 99 out of the 784 Laois Leaving Cert students last summer went on to Carlow, most of them from four schools, Mountmellick CS, Mountrath CS, Coláiste Iosagáin in Portarlington and Heywood CS in Ballinakill.
Waterford IT was the second most popular Institute of Technology for Laois students, with 80 students heading there, mostly from Heywood, Portarlington and Mountrath.
The following was the break down of other ITs: Galway Mayo IT 30; Cork IT - 29; Athlone IT - 26; Dundalk IT 5; Sligo IT - 5; Tallagh IT - 4; Dunlaoighre - 2; Blanchardstown IT - 1.
