Laois County Council is to seek the green light to take over responsibility for roads, public lights and other infrastructure at four housing estates.
The estates are: Vesci Close, Abbeyleix; Garden Village, Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise; Killeen Gardens, Maganey; Bellingham, Mountrath Road, Portlaoise.
The public can make objections or representations to Laois County Council on the taking in charge process up to Wednesday February 1 next.
Laois County Councillors will be asked to give the goahead to the process next year.
