€500 worth of cannabis seized in Portlaoise house

A quantity of cannabis herb, valued at €500, was seized during a search of a house at Carmody Square, Fairgreen, Portlaoise late last week.

The seizure occurred when the Garda Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house at midnight, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

One man is assisting gardai with their enquiries.
