A Portlaoise man who breached a safety order and put his mother fear is now dealing with mental health services and is addressing his anger issues, the district court was told.
Before the court was Bryan Thompson (21), Borris Little, Portlaoise.
Inspector Maria Conway gave evidence that on October 15 this year, the accused breached a safety order that was issued on July 4.
He smashed a bowl on the ground of the kitchen while his mother was making food, before he placed his forehead against hers and put her in fear.
On his way out, he did damage to her car, said the inspector.
The accused had no previous convictions.
Defence, Ms Josephine Fitzpatrick said the accused had made good the loss to his mother and had now been referred to the mental health services.
He appreciated he had put his mother in fear, but he is now addressing his anger issues, said defence.
The matter was put back to February 8 next year for a probation report.
