Third man due before Portlaoise court in relation to attack on Irish Rail guard in Mountrath

Men and woman arrested following another fight outside courthouse in Portlaoise

A third man is due to be charged before Portlaoise court this morning in relation to the assault and false imprisonment of an Irish Rail worker near Mountrath.

The incident happened on December 5, 2017, at Kilbricken, Mountrath.

A 35-year-old man that was arrested on Sunday last, December 17, is due to appear before Portlaoise District Court this morning, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10.30am.

Two Carlow men were charged before the court last Friday, December 15, in connection with the incident. They were Patrick Martin (27), St Mullins, Carlow, and Patrick Cunningham (20), Myshall, Carlow, both charged with robbery.
