A book of evidence has been served on a 32-year-old man charged with sexual offences.
There are 11 charges against the man, who cannot be named to protect the name of the alleged injured party.
The charges include sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and sexual intercourse with a person under 17.
The alleged offences occurred at locations in Laois on dates between January 2017 and May 2017.
At last week's Portlaoise District Court, a book of evidence was served on the accused by Garda Ray Dermody.
Garda Dermody said the DPP had directed trial by indictment, with the matter to be sent forward to Portlaoise Circuit Court on December 4.
Judge Catherine Staines asked was the matter suitable for the circuit court as there was a rape charge involved.
Garda Dermody said those were the DPP's directions.
Judge Staines sent the matter forward to the circuit court, assigning one junior and one senior counsel to the accused.
The accused was released on bail, with conditions that he not approach the alleged injured party, two family members of the injured party, nor a listed address; that he sign on at the garda station; he must provide the gardaí with a phone number and he must give them 48 hours’ notice of any change of address.
The accused was also directed to surrender his passport, but the court was previously told the accused did not have one.
