Laois man charged with rape offences

A Laois man has been charged with rape.

The 37-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged injured party, is charged with two counts of rape, at a location in Laois on August 16, 2016.

At last week’s district court, Garda Donal Cahill gave evidence that he served a book of evidence on the accused.

There was no objection to bail.

The accused was sent forward to the Central Criminal Court, with bail conditions that he reside at a listed address; he have no contact with the alleged injured party or her family; and he have no contact with any witnesses in the case,

One senior and one junior counsel were assigned to the case.
