Laois Chamber Alliance have announced the speakers who will be presenting on numerous employment-related topics at the upcoming jobs fair in Portlaoise.
A new addition to the Laois Jobs Fair this year is a separate seminar room, with presentations taking place throughout the day which will appeal to graduates, jobseekers, and those looking to advance their careers.
The first presentation will commence at 12.30 pm with Laois-based Life and Career Coach, Claire Kelly, who will discuss finding your career bliss with clarity, confidence and courage. There will also be information on apprenticeships and traineeships with Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board, third-level opportunities with South East Technological University and Technological University of the Shannon, as well as a CV and interview workshop with Sinéad Grehan of Iridium HR, a look at Wellbeing at Work with Clinical Exercise Physiologist Dr. Diane Cooper, and information on Careers in the EU with the European Commission office. These presentations are free to attend and open to all.
There will also be two presentations specific to employers and companies, with a bitesize employer information session at 1 pm with LOETB on supports and training available to companies, and a bitesize employer session at 1.30 pm with Local Enterprise Office Laois providing information on financial supports and training available for businesses.
The 2023 Laois Jobs Fair is sponsored by Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board and Local Enterprise Office Laois, and supported by the LEADER programme.
Aideen Poole of LOETB, spoke about the upcoming event.
“We are delighted to be one of the main sponsors again this year at the Laois Jobs Fair in the Midlands Park Hotel. We are looking forward to build on the success of this year. On the day, we will have representatives present from our Apprenticeship, Mount Lucas and Employer Service teams. We will be available to discuss any training and progression to employment routes on the day.
"LOETB would like to commend the Laois Chamber for their outstanding work in coordinating another successful Jobs Fair in the county in 2022. Last year we were extremely impressed with the level of interest in Further Education and Training as a progression route to employment. It was also great for us to network with Laois employers and discuss the funded training options available to them and their staff. We are looking forward to attending this year's Jobs Fair again,” said Mr Poole.
The 2023 Laois Jobs Fair will see over 30 companies exhibiting on the day with 100s of roles available whether you’re a graduate, a jobseeker, or looking for a career change. Apprenticeships, traineeships, upskilling and reskilling opportunities will also be showcased, along with volunteering roles.
The 2023 Laois Jobs Fair takes place on Monday, February 20 in the Midlands Park Hotel, with doors open from 12pm until 7pm.
