Laois Jobs Fair is nearly here so don't forget to register and find your new start
The clock is ticking down rapidly to the 2023 Laois Jobs Fair which Laois Chamber expects to bring thousands of jobseekers to Portlaoise in search of new opportunities.
This year’s tagline is “UnLaois your full potential”. Apart from the 100s of jobs on offer from scores of employers there also be lots of info on upskilling, education and training. As well as apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities there will also be educational opportunities and information on third-level courses.
A new addition is a line-up of presentations in the seminar room all day.
These include “Making your CV stand out”, an information session on apprenticeships and traineeships, and third-level opportunities with the South East Technological University.
There will also be bitesize seminars for employers and companies to attend, for information on business supports and training available from Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB) and Local Enterprise Office Laois.
Speaking about the upcoming 2023 Laois Jobs Fair, Caroline Hofman, CEO of Laois Chamber Alliance, said:
“The Laois Jobs Fair is now a landmark event, providing companies with the opportunity to recruit local, talented and qualified staff, and for anyone interested in a new role to meet with and talk to potential employers and companies.
"This event provides the ideal showcase to see what roles are available for anyone looking for a graduate role, seeking upskilling and training opportunities, or a new job closer to home. There really is something for everyone," she said.
Ms Hoffman thanked the sponsors, Local Enterprise Office Laois and Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board as well as Laois Partnership.
The 2022 event saw hundreds of roles on offer, with 40 companies exhibiting on the day. Just some of the companies that exhibited in 2022 include Portlaoise Plaza, Alpha Wireless, Midlands Steel, Greenfield Global, The Heritage, Enva, Fingleton White, and CJ Sheeran, together with LOETB, South East Technological University and Technological University of the Shannon, showcasing reskilling, upskilling and third-level opportunities. The Laois Hub Collective were also in attendance providing information on remote working hubs located across the county.
