The reigning Rose of Tralee has shared a special message for all of the women in Laois ahead of the Laois Rose selection night.

The Rose of Tralee, Jennifer Byrne, from Offaly has encouraged women in Laois to fill out the application form to take part in the rose journey in a short video.

Jennifer has said that the experience is "phenomenal" and that she has made so many friends from taking part in the festival.

The Laois Rose selection night is on Sunday, May 6 at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise.

Laois Rose Centre Organisers Lyn Moloney and Steve Cronly have a stall at Laois Shopping Centre with entry forms and all the information needed ahead of signing up. Anyone who has ever thought about going for the Rose of Tralee can go along and chat to other entrants and the organisers.

“We would like to invite GAA, camogie clubs, societies, groups and businesses to nominate a representative from their respective communities to take part in one of Laois’ annual flagship events,” Ms Moloney said.

Mr Cronly thanked the sponsors and and the Leinster Express which is the print and digital media partner for this year’s event.

“We are delighted to have Laois Shopping Centre as our lead sponsor of the Laois Rose again this year, along with the Midlands Park Hotel where our Laois Rose Selection 2018 will take place on May 6th. We are also grateful to the Leinster Express for their support as media partner,” he said.

This is an exciting opportunity for any Laois women who have ever thought about entering the Rose of Tralee to learn more and get that helping hand with going forward.

Local clubs, societies, associations, businesses, family or friends are invited to nominate a contestant.

Anyone who is interested can contact Lyn on 083 4631611 or Steve on 086 2505791, email or
