2018 Laois Rose entrant, teacher Sharon Byrne from Portlaoise.
The Leinster Express as exclusive Laois Rose media partner is delighted to introduce you to each and every Laois Rose 2018 entrant, ahead of the Laois Rose Selection night on Sunday May 6.
Every day we will profile two more of the contestants. Next up today on our virtual stage to say hello to Laois, is 26 year old secondary school teacher Sharon Byrne.
Sharon is from Portlaoise, and teaching in Kilkenny College.
"I love what I do. I would describe myself as being a positive, outgoing person who loves a challenge and experiencing new things. This is why I am going for Laois Rose this year.
A member of Portlaoise Athletics Club, Sharon keeps fit by running and even mountain hiking.
"For the past number of years I’ve fundraised for charities in different ways; from organising a fun run and family fun day, doing a skydive, trekking to Everest Base Camp and running marathons to giving up social media, junk food and even meat for a time," she said.
Taking part in the 2018 Laois Rose is "a new and exciting adventure for me" Sharon says.
She thanks her sponsor Hughes Pharmacy in Portlaoise for their support.
