As proud local media sponsor of the Laois Rose of Tralee 2019, the Leinster Express is happy to introduce this year's Laois Rose hopefuls.
Introducing Laois Rose 2019 entrant Lisa McEvoy from Ballyadams. Watch her introduction video above and read her profile below.
"Hi, my name is Lisa McEvoy, I am 27 and live in Ballyadams co. Laois. Ballyadams is a quiet rural area that has a beautiful castle. It also has the St.Joseph's school and church just a short walk from my house.
"I am a lead singer in a band called Pink Gin this is a new band we are trying to get up and running, we have only gigged a handful of times live, but we are all well-seasoned musicians and singer. Music is a massive part of my life my dad plays the guitar and writes songs, I hope to get into a studio to record some of his original songs later this year.
"Music is such a powerful thing it can lift our spirts when we are feeling down and I often wonder what we would of done without music to soothe the soul, the one thing I love about music is every song has its own story and there is a song that everyone can relate to, my favourite quote is “where word fail music speaks”.
The Laois Rose selection night takes place on Friday, April 19 at Castle Durrow from 7.15 pm. Tickets €25, some available on the night.
