Dressed to impress, last year's Laois Rose selection night with 2017 Laois Rose Maeve Dunne Picture: Alf Harvey
A great night of entertainment, talent and Rose of Tralee glamour is in store this weekend for the Laois Rose selection night 2019.
Twenty lovely Laois ladies from every corner of the county have put themselves forward to bloom on stage this Friday night in the stunning setting of Castle Durrow.
The 2018 Laois Rose, farmer Grainne Hogan, who gave a memorable interview in Tralee last year as she milked a cow on stage will hand over her sash to the next deserving representative of the county.
The 2019 Laois Rose will be one of 32 women representing their area in the International festival in Kerry this August.
The chosen Laois Rose will walk away with an array of prizes from a selection of jewellery from Tipperary Crystal, and the coveted Laois sash. The road to the dome will be an incredible journey for the next Rose who will visit some of Ireland’s most famous and historic sporting and tourism landmarks in Dublin, Kildare and Cork on her way to Tralee.
Inside this week's Leinster Express newspaper (April 16) turn to pages 44 to 47 where we are proud to introduce, as Laois Rose media sponsor, each of this year’s Rose entrants.
One of these ladies will be chosen by the new judging panel of Kevin Doyle, Sharon Preston and Denise Murphy based on interviews and her on-stage chat with MC Ollie Turner on the night.
Learn more about Galway native Ollie Turner in our Q&A interview with him inside our special print feature and read some words from each of the Laois Rose sponsors.
In true Rose style, each entrant will have the opportunity to do a party piece of their choice if they so wish with some great talent and unique interests lined up on the night it is sure to be highly entertaining.
