On yer marks in Laois for Gruffalo run around Emo

The Laois Offaly St Michael's Athletics Club is warming up for big Easter weekend in Emo Court.

The Portarlington sports club is busy preparing for the popular Emo Forest Run event on Good Friday, April 18.

Number collection will take place on the day in the Emo Community Centre from 3.30pm.

The 10k and 5k start in Emo village, with the 5k looping through the majestic Emo Court grounds.

The entries will receive a bespoke Emo Forrest Run T-shirt and the total number of participants has been capped at 350.

St Michaels AC will be incorporating the Bill Devereaux Perpetual Cup for the first Club team in the 10k. Bill was a former, coach, chairman and athlete with the club and is sorely missed by all involved.

All athletes are asked to park in the community centre.
