The BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby third round at Shelbourne Park took place on Saturday night, September 6.
Laois trainer Karol Ramsbottom once again showcased his skill on the big stage.
Ramsbottom’s Cheque For Cash was a popular winner in Heat 7, breaking smartly from the inside and making every yard of the running.
The talented greyhound held off strong favourite De Lahdedah to score by two lengths in 29.58, underlining his reputation as one of the most reliable performers in training.
Derek Frehill is the Director of Racing for Greyhound Racing Ireland.
“Cheque For Cash is as genuine and consistent as they come. He always gives everything, and to deliver a performance like that in such a high-class heat is a real credit to him,” he said.
The night as a whole was described as being "full of top-class performances" by a spokesperson for Greyhound Racing Ireland.
"Rising stars Unanimous Leo, Singalong Curly, and Ballymac Stud impressed, while UK challenger Proper Heiress produced a memorable victory in Heat 3, edging out Cheap Sandwiches in what many described as the race of the Derby so far.
