Dunphy crowned national winter dressage champion

Castlecomer dressage rider, Anne Marie Dunphy was crowned Irish National Winter Dressage Champion last weekend at the Dressage Ireland Winter Finals held at Cavan Equestrian Centre.

Castlecomer dressage rider, Anne Marie Dunphy was crowned Irish National Winter Dressage Champion last weekend at the Dressage Ireland Winter Finals held at Cavan Equestrian Centre.

On Saturday afternoon, Anne Marie and her Dutch bred gelding Urbanus convincingly won the Intermediare II Championship and went on to claim the Grand Prix Championship on Sunday with a score of 67%, to secure the overall title on National Winter Champion.

Dunphy’s students were also out in force picking up a number of Championship titles also. Dunphy is the manager of the High Performance Pony Dressage Squad who recently qualfied a team to represent Ireland at the European Dressage Championships for Ponies to be held in Malmo, Sweden in August.
