Success for Portlaoise boxers at Leinster Championships

A number of Portlaoise boxers from the Leinster Finals in Athy as newly crowned provincial champions last weekend.

A number of Portlaoise boxers from the Leinster Finals in Athy as newly crowned provincial champions last weekend.

In the B4 70kg division, Dylan Caldwell had a unanimous decision win over Eghosa Igharo.

There was also a unanimous decision win for Dean Brophy in the B4 54kg division as he saw off Colm Lunders from Blessington.

In the J1 80kg division, Portlaoise’s Jimmy O’Neill won by a Technical Knock-Out while Thomas McInerney had a hard fought 2-1 split decision win over Owen Devine from Clane.

In the J2 70kg Final, Michael Nevin emerged as Leinster Champion after receiving a walkover from Urlingford’s Conor Kelly.
