Athy Tennis Club recently ran a Tennis Classic and there were a number of Laois winners at the event.
The winning team included Michelle Byrne (Rathangan), Ronnie Shorten (Athy), Dermot Kelly( Athy) and Roger Munnis (Portarlington). The runners-up were Joan McDonald Hyland (Athy), Peter McDermott (Stradbally), Leo Tinkler (Portarlington) Castledermot) and Olga Braithwaite.
The highest scoring lady was Maura O’Loughlin (Rathangan) and the men with the highest scores were Laurence Doyle (Athy) and Richie Ryan (Rathangan).
