A car in Mountmellick stuck in the snow on impassable road
The 'Stay indoors' warning has been lifted this morning by the National Emergency Coordination Group however people in Laois are still experiencing blizzard conditions.
The national group said the blizzard has passed and the public safety advice to shelter indoors is withdrawn however this video taken in Mountmellick just after 10:00am on Friday morning shows that it is not all clear yet.

The video shared by Rory McEvoy shows very poor long distance visibility and some high winds still scattering snow in a blizzard.
Some roads in Mountmellick are impassable.
Whilst it didn’t look as bad in Mountmellick, Laois, local roads impassable and more snow did fall. My wife (nurse) didn’t get far past the gate! #StormEmma #sneachta @LaoisNews pic.twitter.com/NfIfhuI20H
