Laois man appears in court after rural cocaine seizure

A Laois man has been charged after Gardaí seized an esimated €39,000 worth of drugs in a house in rural Laois over the weekend.

Daniel Delaney, (29), of Aghaboe, Borris-in-Ossory appeared before Tullamore Court on Monday charged posession of drugs under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs act.

The accused, who is orginally from Ballinakill, appeared before the court arising from an operation carried out by the Laois Offaly Divisonal Crime Taskforce gardaí in the Aghaboe area on Saturday, June 9.

Cocaine valued at €35,000 and cannabis worth an estimated €4,000 was seized.

A man, aged 29, was detained by gardaí at the scene.

Mr Delaney was released on bail with conditions attached to appear again before Portlaoise District Court on July 19 next.
