Mick Rigney’s Friends say thanks

In recent weeks we ‘The Friends of Mick Rigney’ group came together to attempt to raise some funds to help with Mick’s ongoing requirements and future rehabilitation. If it were possible to do so through the medium of your paper we would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the very kind and very generous people of Portlaoise and the people of County Laois and beyond. We would also like to thank all the organisations and individuals who gave up their time to make our fundraising events an outstanding success.

The ‘community spirit’ which came to the surface was fantastic. All monies raised will be used to purchase a wheelchair accessible car, to make modifications to Mick’s family home and to assist with Mick’s ongoing rehabilitation.

Mick is currently in Portlaoise General Hospital where he is making progress with the help and assistance of all the fantastic staff at the hospital. While Mick faces many challenges ahead, the kindness and generosity of the above mentioned people will greatly assist and hopefully expedite his rehabilitation

While we appreciate this note of thanks can in no way express our gratitude to all the individuals and businesses that supported our initiative, we hope it can go some way towards doing so.

On behalf of The Friends of Mick Rigney group and Mick’s family, many thanks again.

Yours sincerely.

Friends of Mick Rigney.
