Laois Chamber Alliance have revealed a new dimension to the Laois Jobs Fair which they are delighted to confirm is on the way back in 2023.
The business organisation says this is the third year the event is being held, with a total of 4,000 attendees between the 2020 and 2022 events. The Chamber says year’s tag line is “UnLaois your full potential”, with 100s of jobs on offer, as well as apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities, educational opportunities and information on third level courses.
A new addition for this year’s event is an line-up of presentations in the seminar room throughout the day. These presentations include “Making your CV stand out”, an information session on apprenticeships and traineeships, and third-level opportunities with the South East Technological University.
There will also be bitesize seminars for employers and companies to attend, for information on business supports and training available from Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB) and Local Enterprise Office Laois.

“The Laois Jobs Fair is now a landmark event, providing companies with the opportunity to recruit local, talented and qualified staff, and for anyone interested in a new role to meet with and talk to potential employers and companies.
"We look forward to the 2023 event building upon the success of the 2020 and 2022 events. There is huge interest in this year’s event already, with fantastic job opportunities across all sectors right on our doorstep here in Laois. There are also exhibitors showcasing third-level, education, apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities.

The Chamber says the 2022 event saw hundreds of roles on offer, with 40 companies exhibiting on the day. Just some of the companies that exhibited in 2022 include Portlaoise Plaza, Alpha Wireless, Midlands Steel, Greenfield Global, The Heritage, Enva, Fingleton White, and CJ Sheeran, together with LOETB, South East Technological University and Technological University of the Shannon, showcasing reskilling, upskilling and third-level opportunities. The Laois Hub Collective were also in attendance providing information on remote working hubs located across the county.
A statement said feedback from exhibitors and jobseekers who attended the 2020 and 2022 events has been extremely positive.
HR Manager Ireland with Enva, Erin Hooban, exhibited at both events and will be exhibiting again this year.

The Laois Jobs Fair takes place on Monday, February 20 from 12pm to 7pm in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
