A Portlaoise man has been fined for being an unaccompanied learner driver, and warned by Judge Catherine Staines that if he comes before the district court again before passing his test he will be disqualified from driving.
As well as being unaccompanied, Anthony O’Donoghue, of 7 Old Knockmay Road, Portlaoise, had no L plates displayed, when he was stopped at the Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise, on January 15.
He had previous convictions for the same offences, and for public order.
Defence, Ms Josephine Fitzpatrick said he was to take his test at the end of July.
He was fined €100 on each count.
