The Hell and Back team
A team of Laois County Fire and Rescue firefighters and officers are once again planning to go to Hell and Back for a good cause.
They will be taking part in the 13 Kilometre Hell and Back challenge on Saturday, June 10 are hoping the community can get behind them to support them as they plan to raise much needed funds for a childhood cancer charity.
The Laois firefighters are raising money in aid of the Childhood Cancer Foundation as a close member of the service has experienced this first hand in the past with one of their own children.
Retired Sub Officer of Portlaoise Station, John Ging experienced this with one of his own children and every donation will help to further improve treatment for other children who may need help towards accommodation and expenses while going through treatment.
John would like to thank the Dennis Burkit ward in St James hospital for all their help and, hopefully, this extra money will help other kids in the future. The fundraisers is called Firecrew 2023 for Children with Cancer.
“Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us and will mean even more to the families and children affected,” the Laois firefighting team said.
