Laois town lines up lifesaving training

Laois town lines up lifesaving training
Rathdowney people can play their part in saving local lives by being trained in the use of the town's defibrillators.
Defibrillators are devices that send an electric pulse or shock to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat if someone suffers a heart attack.
There are a number of such devices around town in different places. Cllr John King urged people to get involved in the training.
"It is very important to have people trained locally and able to use them," he said.
A meeting with be held on Wednesday, February, 15 evening at 8 pm in the Youth Cafe (Old Convent School Rathdowney) to organise free training courses for people who wish to be trained on how to use the defibrillator when the need arises.
The training will be free of charge.
