Pedestrian crossing signs called for

Pedestrian crossing signs are needed on a busy Clonaslee road used by a school and housing estates, according to a councillor.

Cllr Seamus McDonald, Fiann Fáil, told  Laois County Council staff that the location was Gorrough Bridge where markings are needed at the playschool.

“This is a very busy area with the school and two housing estates. There is a serious issue with traffic,” he said.

Paul McLoughlin, Senior Engineer, Roads Department, said his section would review safety with extra signs and markings added if necessary.

The issue was raised at the recent Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District meeting.
