Congrats to Abbeyleix native Katherine Igoe who has has landed a guest part in TV3’s hit soap, Red Rock. She will feature in the second of next week’s episodes, which airs Thursday, March 12 at 8.30pm on TV3. Katherine, who is originally from Abbeyleix in Laois but has been living in the UK for over 20 years.

On Thursday, March 12 at 6pm we will celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Library. We will host an evening of song, dance, music and storytelling brought to us by Spink Comhaltas.
Storytelling with Lesley for 3-6 year olds each Saturday at 11.30am.
Eadrom Art class for 6 to 12 year olds takes place roughly every 4 weeks. Next class will be announced shortly.
Our adult Spanish and German classes are currently booked up. Juvenile Chess Club every Saturday morning at 10am.
From March 3-28 Janet O’Grady and The Happy Mondays will exhibit in the library. Knitting Club 10.30am each Wednesday.’

St Patrick’s Parade
The St Patricks day parade is taking place once again this year. Congratulations to all involved. This year the parade will take place at 12.30pm and further details will be issued nearer the date.
The hard-working committee have asked people to get their thinking caps on with entries being judged under 3 categories- best window, best float, best walking group. The organisers welcome anyone who can help out with the setup the weekend before or on the day.

The play is Jimmy Murphy’s first attempt at getting inside the female mind. Una’s dream wedding. Her two best friends clear out her recently purchase rundown cottage.
Joining them, on this hen night of sorts, is her mother in law to be Olive and Olive’s best friend. Una is keeping a secret that, if revealed would prevent the wedding, and destroy all hopes of living happily ever after with the love of her life. As the play unfolds, each woman, in turn, is forced to confront awkward truths of their own like.
