Roadworks are causing major delays outside Portlaoise this morning.
A temporary stop go traffic light system was put in place on the Mountmellick Road shortly after 9am.
The temporary traffic measures caused major delays for motorists approaching from the Mountmellick side, where long tailbacks occurred.
Works are taking place on the roadside before the turnoff for Kyletalesha coming from Portlaoise.
