The five star Heritage Hotel & Spa in Killenard, Laois
A fire has taken place in the spa of a luxury Laois hotel, with staff and customers forced to evacuate.
The spa at the Heritage Hotel and Golf resort in Killenard was safely evacuated with nobody understood to have been injured.
The fire began on Wednesday morning, May 3, with firefighters from Portarlington and Monasterevin stations both attending the scene.
Laois County Fire & Rescue Service confirmed that they were alerted to the fire at 8.15am.
They extinguished the fire within hours, but some damage has been caused to the interior of the building. Fire crews were still on the scene up to 11am.
